I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have the records that I am looking through to be organized. If something’s blatantly out of place, I try to help out the store & fellow record scavengers. I put it where it belongs. Here’s me putting a Prince record in the right place:
So be a pal to your fellow record buyers and store owners and keep the stacks in order when hunting for vinyl.

why is there ring wear on those albums? improper storage is a terrible thing.
Donno, Greg. This was at a Half Price Books. Definitely varied quality there. Not graded or anything by anyone who knows what’s good and bad. But sometimes you can find great deals there if you know your stuff.
Greg, I’m guessing that the store owner has little control over how the previous owners have stored them.
One thing that really gets me with used stock is when the crates are rammed full to the point where you can’t flick through them. I’d rather walk away than do battle with storage like that.
That said, I note HMV’s (pitifully small) new vinyl section in my home city is arranged like that. Premium prices and you can’t even browse the stuff!
Sean, I’m with you on unflippable over-crammed crates / bins.
When I wrote this post I thought about this pet peeve among other observations of situations and people’s behavior while looking at records. I’ll write ‘em all up for a future post. Everyone feel free to leave your suggestions here
