Van Halen - 1984

Van Halen's sixth record released at the very end of 1983, and their final album with David Lee Roth (until 2012's A Different Kind of Truth) features a more synth-driven poppier sound than their previous five releases. But it still rocks in places. You can't beat "Drop Dead Legs", "House of Pain" and "Hot for Teacher". Also features mega-hits "Jump" and "Panama". In 1984, VH was truly on the of the world with this album. That would all come crumbling down with DLR's departure in 1985 (not that they didn't have huge success with 1986's followup 5150 with Sammy Hagar on vocals, it's just that many think that it was never quite the same).
